    Hey guys,

I have a 2020 Toyota Prius Prime (Canadian model; not sure if there's any difference between one bought in the States versus Canada, but I bought mine in Canada), basic trim.

I've never done an oil change on this car by myself. But now I am ready to do the oil change and I haven't gotten under the car yet, but I was wondering if anybody could tell me definitively, whether or not my car uses a cartridge oil filter, or a spin-on oil filter.

Yes, I realize I could just as easily lift up the car & and open it up to see for myself, but if it's the cartridge type....I don't want to open it up only to find out I have to close it up, buy the conversion kit for the spin-on type oil filter & then do my oil change. I'm trying to do this in one shot.

I'm not a fan of the cartridge type oil filters. I think they suck! I hope they used the spin-on type, but....if they went el-cheapo, at least there's a conversion kit & I can buy it, and go from there.

Yms1925- I have a 2020 prime and my original filter has both denso # 90915-10003 and toyota # 90915-yzzf2 on it so either # is fine. Denso has long been Toyotas filter supplier as well as many others- they typically emphasize max flow over max filtration.
