What Transmission Oil is Best?

    The car care nut says original toyota oil is the best for transmission oil but I am a little confused because he mentions WS and ECVT so I am wondering what WS and ECVT means and is the dealer the best place to pick this up? Thanks

    eCVT is a reference to the type of transmission used in Toyota hybrids including the Prius.

    WS is the fluid Toyota sells for it:

    You can get it from the dealer, but it's not hard to find. Amazon, Walmart & others carry it.

    Original Genuine Toyota WS. ECVT is for other CVT's with a belt.
