Right now I'm getting around 450 before I get down pass 0 blinking pip. Usually I drive less than 20 miles past zero before the fillup. Flint mi.

613 miles on the last tank.

I usually keep track of when the last pip on the gauge starts blinking, which means about 2.7 to 3.0 gallons left. 2.7 more gallons would be to the stated capacity of 11.9 gallons, and 3.0 would be to 12.2 gallons, which is what Bob Wilson found when he ran his Gen 3 dry on purpose. If I'm driving around town, where I don't worry about where the closest gas station is, I will typically fill up about 2 gallons after that last pip starts blinking, estimating my usage by looking at the mpgs for those last miles. My last several tanks have taken 11.2 gallons, which I don't consider pushing it because I'm monitoring, and it's still 35-50 miles range left. If I'm on a road trip, I'll fill up much earlier.

Man, you guys are killing it mpg-wise! I average only 383 miles per fillup, but I usually refuel with two pips remaining. I'd probably be around 420 or so if I were more willing to live on the edge :)

I was going to suggest the they'd better not ask you. LOL! I've not yet driven a whole tank without plugging in, but I would guess close to 500 miles. If I ever get to take a road trip, I'll find out. I'm at a record rate now because I haven't had to outdrive my battery as much as usual. I'm still showing a half tank remaining and have gone well over 500 miles. Showing about 127 mpg on the display. But Bisco blows that away on a routine basis.

But I still want a Prime. LOL!

My next Prius will be a plug in, especially with my driving routes.

Earlier this week, I went 520 miles before filling up. I never come close to using the entire tank- even when I get the warning light, I still have 2 gallons left.

I own both. I drive the PIP and the wife drives the 2011. I'm averaging 80mpg vs her at 48 right now. It's summer so both or our mpgs are down. Amazing how much better the plugin does

620 miles? Something like that. That was the one time I drove my Gen 4 (not a plug-in) all the way until the fuel light came on. Now I just fill up when I'm at 1/2 remaining. The fun is over. Now I just drive it. Don't even check the mpg anymore. It's been a great car so far.

Quite a bit. Prime has more than twice the battery range, better efficiency in both hybrid and electric modes, lots more safety features and other bells and whistles, more horse power, better handling, quieter. I haven't driven one, but I would expect the sense of upgrade from mine to a Prime would be even more than when I changed from a Gen 2 to the PiP.
