What needs to be done to pass failed emissions test?

    As I understand, the inspection computer wasn't able to talk to the car's computer.

    It looks like CT does private inspections. Other people who had this problem many times had success just by going to another shop. It may be worth $20 to have it tested somewhere else just to make sure..

    Try a dealer next. If they can't talk to the car at least you'll be in the right place to get the communications problem fixed. I would bet that there is actually no emissions problem with the car and that there was some problem with the inspection device.
