    WhatDrivesUs used to be great.

    The problem with WhatDrivesUs lately is that they've become very anti-Hybrid - and as a consequence had been quite savagely abusing TOYOTA, and PRIUS. Yes, that could be valid maybe for USA & bits of EU and a few other spots on the globe - but that's only a small percentage of the world.

    For most of the world, EVs:

    1) haven't got infrastructure;
    2) are very expensive, if available at all;
    3) are not practical in most countries apart from in Urban areas;
    4) are less environmentally friendly as the power is largely dirty - check out the Australian Govt Green Vehicle Guide Green Vehicle Guide Home which displays lifetime CO2 emissions - PRIUS is twice as good as TESLA - here;
    5) some country towns here are powered by a Diesel Generator still - and if even a couple of residents or visitors plugged in EVs, they'd firstly take 24+ hours to charge, but also put a load on the generator which the locals wouldn't appreciate; AND
    6) there are many countries where there is just not the grid power to charge an EV - many villages have restricted power for just a few hours a day.

    Here, our Opposition Leader has promised to encourage EVs if elected as Prime Minister - and was consequently asked how long it takes to charge one (from a 240volt Power Point)? He replied "between 8 and 10 minutes". And the audience and press are still laughing !!!!!!!!! We have enough chargers for the number of EVs at the moment - as long as they don't want to go too far - and if their plug is the correct one (and EVs are estimated to be less than 0.02% of the overall fleet).

    They aren't as much anti-hybrid as they are pro EV. Tony drives a Prime Advanced.
