So I was the proud owner of a 2010 Prius, kept it for 137,000 miles. Other than tires & oil changes, no maintenance needed.

Traded it in because for work, I got transferred and needed 4x4 for work/home purposes. Now transferred back to Chicago and ready to trade the 4x4 in for a new Prius.

Which trim level (s) of the 2016/2017 have seat heaters.....I really need that for living here. Also which trim levels offer remote starting?

    Thanks,
    Larry Bell

Hello and welcome to Prius Chat. I'm in UK so not the best position to give you advice here. UK spec being different from yours in USA. One thing though is in not aware of any Prius having remote starting. Don't really think it needs it as you don't need to warm up engine much before running. The engine fires up to get it to the optimum temp whenever it's needed and the car is smart enough to decide for itself. It has an automatic shutter which shields the radiator in cold weather to aid warm-up, though some have said they let it idle awhile with a/c on to demist/defrost windscreen.

I was s bit puzzled about you asking about equipment levels when your handle suggests you have a three touring, or was that the one you think would suit you best?

For 2017. The Four and Four Touring have heated front seats.

I live in Chocago I have cloth seats in my current car and was planing to get a Prius with cloth seats as well. That way you really don't need heated seats as the cloth doesn't hold the cold as leather (not sure about softex though). Never really had a moment when I was like man I wish I had a seat warmer. For 2016 I think it's the same 4 and 4t.

This table might help :). It's for 2016 but for 2017, TSS-P is standard.

Four and Four Touring are the only ones with heated front seats. All models of the Prius Prime have heated front seats, however.

Remote start is a dealer-installed accessory so you can install it on any one you buy.

Thanks for the replies! Whwn I registered for this site, I was about to purchase the 3 Touring, but noticed it didn't have heated seats. In regards to the remote start, I use it on my truck, mainly in winter, and keep it where the defroster comes on and seat heaters. Helps melt the snow off the windshield, mirrors, as well as warming up the seats. (I have a chocolate lab, dog, so leather is a must vs cloth, for cleaning purposes).
