If the car is up for sale but I want to give it a new battery, any advice on what an economical choice would be? I don't want to drop $200 on some Optima or something. Thanks

Most Prius batteries will be in the $200-ish range.

If the car is operating with the existing one, you may not want to change it.

Cheapest from the store may be a Duracell at Batteries Plus.

Are you on your original 12 V battery? Are you having some kind of problem with the battery you have now?

If your battery isn't giving you a problem I would just leave it alone. If it ain't broke don't fix it.

You could have it tested at a local parts store to give you an idea of its health.
