Let me be clear... i have no triangle of death. no codes are being thrown. car drives just fine. But these readings from Dr. Prius have me concerned. Any thoughts? Replaced ECU inside the hyburd battery because i thought it might have corrosion on the pins. Readings remained the same. 200k 2009 Prius no problems with car whatsoever but readings all of the sudden have become strange and worry me
Why would those readings be of any concern? They're not even possible. Believe your car, not the app.
what do you think would be causing the torque app and dr prius to give results like that? before the results have been normal. out of nowhere im getting these readings. any advice is appreciated.
Normally, when you see weird voltage readings like that, the No. 2 wire harness is compromised by corrosion with breaks in one or more of the sense wires. In this case, though, you would have the MWL and possibly others on the dash, along with codes to read. The Torque and the Dr. Prius apps have their uses but cannot be relied on for scanning for codes. You need a better scanner. You can find a review of several here. Lastly, is your dash lighting up 100% reliably?
Lol... There's nothing wrong with the app's ability to read data. This is caused by a known problem: Corrosion in the Battery ECU & Voltage Sensing Harness. It can often be fixed by doing nothing more than cleaning off all the corrosion. But while you're in there, its a good opportunity upgrade with better bus bars, nuts and wiring: Hybrid Battery Bus Bars | ACENBAY, LLC
hmmm..he installed a replacement ecu temperatures are afu voltages are afu you think it's corrosion on the harness? never seen a voltage sensor harness create temperature indication problems. like -400f and +400f yet there are no codes or warning lights
My guess is a problem with the connection between the Bluetooth dongle and the OBD2 port OR The Bluetooth dongle developed a problem. Do you have a different Bluetooth dongle that you can try?
Replacement battery ECU means that it's probably just like the one you took off the car someone needs to open the silver back cover and look at the bars going from the board to the receptacle It's just that simple and then while you have this out you've got the whole battery cover off you might as well clean the mess up.
nope, wouldn't expect that to be the voltage sensor harness. maybe the temperature sensor harness though.
