The third season of Weeds aired this evening... As it's been reported here before, one of the lead characters Nancy Botwin (Mary-Louise Parker) drives a Prius.

In this episode "Doing the backstroke" Nancy is being held at semi-comical-gunpoint by a thug. The two are at a gas station refueling the blue Prius.
Thug: I though these things are supposed to get good mileage?
Nancy: They do. I just haven't filled up in two weeks.

     So true!

    I agree!
The shows ability to create these situations are great. I never thought I'd see the day when two thugs with big guns would be in a Prius. MythTV will be recording this every week now!

In tonights episode, "Bill Sussman," the lead thug (U-Turn) was pawing through Nancy's Prius owner manual while his buddy (Marvin) was laying in the back seat bleeding from a gun shot wound in his portly posterior... While they were enroute to 'their' doctor, that doesn't ask questions, two rival gang members flashed some hand gesture. Without realizing what was about to happen, Nancy circles the block when U-Turn rolls the window down and shoots at the two rival gang members. There we have it, a Prius in a drive by shooting.
    It was absolutely hilarious!!!

At the end of the episode, U-Turn is seen driving in a nice black 07 Prius with limo tint:
    Nancy: you bought a Prius?!
Thug: Na, I bought seven of them. I got my whole crew driving them. They're real good for sneaking up on mother....s and pop'n'em cause they so quiet.

The best part was that the _real_ sound of the Prius [in electric mode] was used as U-Turn drove off. You could hear the high-pitched whine of the PSD and MG2.

I highly [no pun intended] recommend catching a few shows of Weeds if you have access to Showtime.

When Nancy was trying to clean all the blood out of the back seat, all I could think was that she should order a set of Wet Okole seat covers.

At least in Hollywood we are!!! I still don't think we can compete with pick-up trucks...

Hahaha yep! Although there wasn't enough of the liquid cleaning solution in that bottle to saturate the seats all the way through to the HV traction battery, I did worry that it might make it to the metal. That'd give the next passenger in the back seat a nice little tingle...
Or when she was picking up her son and he looked back there and said "is that blood" and then "is this a shell casing?"

When I saw that scene I said out loud, "She should go to PriusChat, I bet somebody could help her out." B)

I wonder what Frasier, Niles, Daphne and Martin could have done with a Prius.

    Good one. :p

Prius. More street cred than a Hummer with spinners.

I do not know, but Weeds certainly has the wit and humor that Frasier had... albeit with a bit more blue collar and t-shirt-esk company. I'd bet that Niles and Frasier would have matching Prii with matching features.

Frasier talking to Roz about Marris:" I once questioned the political correctness of her serving veal.An hour later we found her locked in the garage with the engine running on a golf cart."

She should have locked herself in the garage with the Prius in Ready mode. :D
