Warning light, traction and ABS light all at the same time

    Hello, my 2012 Prius C recently ran into some issues. I am the original owner and it has about 150,000+ miles on it. Just recently I was no longer able to unlock/lock my car with the key FOB. The controls on the inside of the doors did nothing to where I now have to manually lock/unlock each door from the inside and I can not open the hatch. The dash has the warning, skid and ABS lights on. The 12v has been replaced within the last 2 years. It was just recently serviced And after service at the dealer the brake light came on. Dealership thinks it may be a computer issue but before I drop the money I am asking if anyone else has any suggestions on what the problem may be. Thanks

    Have you changed the battery in the keyfob?

    Also: just because the 12v is under 2 years old doesn't mean it hasn't gone bad.

    Also also: many Prius owners are having problems with their 12v batteries simply becoming discharged due to lack of usage during stay-at-home orders.

    Worth checking the voltage of both the 12v and the keyfob battery before proceeding.

    I can't think of any other free/cheap ideas before paying to have a proper diagnosis done. Good luck!

    Getting a rough idea why the brake and traction lights are on counts as a free/cheap idea, as it can be done at home using a short wire and counting light blinks. At least it can in the Gen 3 liftback, which I'm assuming is electronically kin to the c.

    You get more/better information with a code reading tool and those can be pretty cheap too, though less cheap than a piece of wire.

    Battery in key FOB was the first thing replaced. Stay at home orders had no effect for me. Still had to work and drove 30+ miles daily.

    I tried my code reader and got errors but no codes. Went to my local mechanic and everything looks good and he thinks that the electronic system maybe failing and to take it back to the dealer to fix.

    "Electronic system maybe failing" are the classic timeless words of a mechanic failing at retrieving the diagnostic information.
