    Hi lovely people,

My 2006 Prius with 220k miles has developed an interesting problem. When the weather is even mildly warm (above 50) the check engine light comes on. If it gets colder, the light goes away. This has been going on all winter.

Any idea what could be going on?

    Thanks, as always!

    probably the vapor recovery system.

But you’ll need to read the trouble codes to be sure

Get somebody to pull the codes; while the light is ON would be best.

Totally wild guesses are often worse than useless.

Need the codes, as already stated. Also, be sure to use a reader that's fluent in Prius. Our cars have a ton of codes that are not programmed into most readers.

And even if the light is off, a good reader should see it in the history.

    Also, check your oil level.
