    Question:

If I changed my own oil and don't go in for regular inspections do I not void my warranty ( extended or non-extended?). Seems to me that Toyota would need proof that you did replace the oil/filter every 5000K or so. Would factory warranty cover repairs to a problem due to not performing preventative maintnace?

As long as you carefully and consistantly document the maintainence you performed and keep track of all reciepts for the oil, filters, etc you will not void your warranty...in fact, they have to respect your right to do your own maintainence.

BUT, you better be sure you're doing everything by-the-book and writing down every tire rotation, every timing check, etc.
