I hope VW cars are not forbidden on PC ?! ;)

We in Europe, and as far as I'm concerned, in Germany,

    VW Jetta Hybrid - PRIUSforum

    and France

Jetta hybride - Forum Prius Touring Club,

we read with great interest the launching of the first real VW Hybrid, even if it's not the model prefered here. According to german press sources, it will be launched in Germany next March, probably with first deliveries in June 2013. At the hefty price of 30000 Euro (roughly 40000 $!!!), for the top of the line model, the only offered here.

I read the following "first contact" reports:

    http://www.greencarreports.com/news/...id-first-drive
    http://carsinbrief.com/index.php/201...-jetta-hybrid/

So, if anyone wants to comment, or even better, whitness his/her own experiences, I (and certainly others too) would be thankful.

    Does it fulfill this purpose?

To significantly reduce emissions & consumption in a reliable & cost-effective manner.

If so, it's about time. Leaving all the anti-hybrid sentiment behind is a welcome change.

Other than the Japanese models, all European hybrids are token, box ticking cars which are way way over priced. They just allow the manufacturers to lower their average economy figures. The Peugeot, Citroen and VW hybrids are all about €30,000 give or take.

    That is madness.

I always purchased Honda, Acura and Toyota cars. All good cars no trouble. Purchased a German car in 2005 and it was nothing but trouble. The car nearly broke my bank. Will never buy a German car and will let people know my opinion.
