Featured VW ID.4 with 3 years free charging

    First off, I'm not tempted as my Std Rng Plus Model 3 has some unique capabilities. Regardless, it is a hoot to see VW offering three years of free charging:


    Since VW owns Electrify America, having both the charging network and EV manufacturing is the way to go. IMHO, the problems with Electrify America is they had no unified population of EVs that needed reliable charging. The ID.4 may provide the standard to solve the cacophony of CCS-1 style, fast DC charging.

    Frankly, any CCS-1 style, EV maker should contract with Electrify America for 3 years of free charging. This will deflate the central California, hydrogen experiment.

    I could care less about that, what sucks is that there are ZERO Public quick charge stations (or even slow ones) to the north where I travel making any reasonable priced BEV unworkable

    So free charging on a network I will never see doesn’t make much sense.

    90 + % charge at home, after you put the car to bed for the evening. For now, it's not about the outliers. Maybe the outliers will look into one of those practically free used Mirai fuel cell cars ....

    Good idea and rhymes with the earlier Tesla script. Like the first years with S and X, lifelong supercharging helped build the brand and network.

    Tesla is down in all major markets, California, Norway, the Netherlands, etc. Hundreds of cars in inventory and short wait times too!
