Did they mention the part where they promise a FREE UNICORN with every purchase?

Lutz still doesn't get it. " Volt still isn't as good a sound bite as forced 35 mpg".........Dear Mr Lutz, please wake up and smell the coffee, the end game is bringing our fuel usage in line with the rest of the world, not sound bites. Not everyone is going to have a hybrid or a Volt.

I find the Volt a bit funny looking (I don't like hard edges and I find chrome tacky). It's almost as bad as Toyot's Hybrid X.

It's exciting to see Chevy committing to the production of such a car, however! I think I'd wait for a Japanese electric car before I bought one, but at least American auto manufacturers are starting to be a little less SUV, a little more innovative!

Less than a month ago the Chevy website said 600 miles. What's next, unlimited miles powered by dilithium crystals?

I just wish they weren't so wishy-washy. If they could settle on one solid idea and produce it I'd be happy. And smug, since the Prius has been out longer :D. Although I have to admit, GM isn't the only one who's been wishy-washy. They're just blatant about it.

I don't know I kind of like the design of the hybrid X...very futuristic albeit not likely to ever be produced in such a way.

As for the volt...lets stop with all the back and forth specs and come up with some hard ideas instead of dreams...

As much fun as it is to bash GM, I do hope they get into the game for their benefit. Yes, the current (get it current?) design does look a little Buck Rodgers, but so did/does the Prius in it's toned down evolutionary way. Let's see if hits production first.

But most importantly, I want the Leprechan, and I promised my daughter the Unicorn.

    Cheers!

What a pile a crap......... typical GM spin. I really started to spam their forum, but nahhhh.

they call the hybrid volt "groundbreaking tech" .. but the time the volt hits production, if it ever does, the Prius will have been on the ROAD for almost 15 years. Talk is cheap. But at least it looks like they have 3 or 4 members of their forum to discuss the science fiction of GM's concept vehicles.

Doubful we have the technology for that....

We do have the tech for this though.

Press release for debut of Chevy Volt:
Lutz: If my calculations are correct, when this baby hits eighty-eight miles per hour... you're gonna see some serious ^%$.

I wonder if they'll toss in the remote control option for free.

    Pretty interesting

...and I wanted to find an image of this Toyota concept I saw that was surrounded by glass like the Hybrid X, but more round. I thought that would be an awesome look for the next gen Prius, but I can't seem to find the photo.

I just really dislike hard lines in a body design, and there are a few of them on the Hybrid X hood, grill, tires and sides.

F8L, the remote these days are a lot smaller you get with the volt, it is almost like invisible... :)

the flux capacitor is an option for $23,500.00 extra, the large remote is on sale at www.gmfaux/volt/dontbelieveit.com LOL

I'm just not sure that current technology can harness the lightning bolts necessary to generate:
