Just made a short video how-to for taking apart your Prius dash with a credit card-- emergency repairs.

Appreciate the effort and purpose of making the video, but unfortunately I couldn't watch more than a half minute of that without holding on to my chair thinking I was in some 8.0 earthquake. You might want to run that through a stability filter and then repost it.

I can't really think of a reason to use a credit card or anything like that—I use my fingers (pads, not nails), period. Even less chance of marring any surface.

If you pop the pieces off in the designed order, it's easier, because you're never trying to pull up two or three layers at once. In the center, the starting piece is the one around the shifter. Put your fingers beneath it (past the top of the cupholder door) and push upward. After that, everything is obvious. Cupholder-and-side-piece-to-glovebox is next.
