    To Prius V owner;

    I am curious as to the material used on the center console cover,since the seating is leather, is the console cover leather or cloth?

    David,

    I have a V, and the center console is covered in a dark gray leather, in my misty gray interior. It is padded with a very thin padding material, that is maybe 7 or 8 mm thick? It is not very padded, but sure wipes clean very easily.

    Bisque leather - the console / armrest lid is padded a bit and, yes leather, stitched nicely around the perimeter. The door armrests look to be vinyl like, and lightly padded as well.

    You may know this already - the steering wheel is leather wrapped and feels great!

    I may regret this later, but I am glad to be able to give your wife a thrill. LOL...

    On a serious note, the only complaint that I do have about the center console is that when I lean on it with a little weight, I think that the whole thing feels a little flimsy. I am not referring to the material covering the lid, but the fact that when I do lean on it, the cover seems to slide a little to one side, and looks askew. Eventually, I am concerned that it could break.

    Re the flimsy console...mine - is very solid; hardly any shifting at all. I commented (to myself) about the very good quality of the console lid. It's formed with multiple parts as is the flip-up cupholder lid. Quite thick gauge of plastic material too. I've been in cars that felt and looked cheap in these areas. The Prius seems quite well designed and built here. The inside door materials and door handle leaves some to be desired however. You may want to mention the console shift to the dealer if you visit Service.

    BTW - the Flying Buttress console - causes absolutely no angst for me re leg / knee rubbing. I tend to 'splay' when driving but the door nor console are obstructive at all for me. I was worried about that before delivery. I'm 6' 190 lbs.

    So it's approx. 7-8x thicker than ours? lol.

    The Gen II's padding is very very thin (I have the cloth). Both the driver's armrest and the centre console are worn.

    I think it might be vinyl-ish moreso, but I'm not sure ... it does wipe clean pretty easy ... same for the door armrests. It's holding up to my dog's claws pretty well.
