I am about two weeks away from taking delivery of my V AT. I have been reading the threads about former user-configurable settings now needing the dealer to perform. It would be great if someone who already has the car could help. So far I am aware of these:

    1. Backup beeps
    2. Driver seatbelt beeps

Can we get a good-if-not-exhaustive list?

    Thanks

The thread below has the owners manual - by section and a complete one! I downloaded it and am working my way through it. The section on customizations starts on page 587.

I had to pay to see the repair manual, but worthwhile. The list is pretty exhaustive. i discovered several that might be helpful. Some of these can be set by the owner, most can't. I plan to give my list to the dealer prior to delivery and let the service department manage them. Also, if there is any static on refusing to make a setting, I can refuse delivery.

Here is what I plan to change:

    Unlock Key Twice OFF

Function that unlocks only the driver door when the driver door key cylinder is turned to unlock once, and unlock all doors when it is turned to unlock twice. For the OFF setting, turning it once unlocks all doors.

    Auto Lock/Shift OFF

Function that locks all doors when the shift lever is moved from P to any position other than P while the engine is running and all doors are closed.

    Auto Unlock/Shift OFF

Function that unlocks all doors when the shift lever is moved to P from any position other than P while the power switch is on (IG).

    Unlock 2 Operation OFF

Function that unlocks driver door when unlock switch on transmitter is pressed once, and unlocks all doors when pressed twice. If setting is OFF, pressing unlock switch once makes all doors unlock.

Driver Side Seatbelt Warning Buzzer (two settings for this -- one high speed, one low. I set both same) OFF

Function to turn on/off the seat belt warning buzzer

Front Passenger Side Seatbelt Warning Buzzer(two settings for this -- one high speed, one low. I set both same) OFF

    Reverse Buzzer SINGLE

Function to change the type of the reverse warning buzzer

Yes, I had the dealer change a couple of those same things as well.

The one that I'm curious to see if anyone has changed and what difference it made, if any, is the one on p. 583 regarding sensor sensitivity for the instrument panel. The default being 0 with a range of -2 to +2. Our dealer didn't really know anything about those settings so I left them be. Anyone changed any of these settings?

Just a guess here, but I expect it's how dark the ambient light needs to be for the instruments to go into or out of night mode. I believe it's not determined solely by whether your lights are on but rather by ambient lighting when the car is on. Our Lexus is that way--panel and NAV lighting goes into or out of night mode sometimes, even thought the headlights may still be on. Odd, though, that it's there when we don't have DRL/auto headlights. (Maybe it's country-specific?)
