    Hello everyone,

I am looking forward to buy a used 05 or 06 Prius and I wondering is there anything that I should be aware of before I purchase the car. Also does anyone recommend installing towing unit on Prius. Mostly I will be towing a 400 pound scooter. Thanks for the answers

No one officially recommends towing with the Prius. That said, many of us have had good luck with the Curt hitch. It is easy to install and is unobtrusive.

400 pound scooter? That is a big one!

IMHO, Prius isn't the right car for you if you need a car to tow with.

One Priuschatter towed a trailer while moving, said it elevated the MG2 (motor/gen) temperature. Said he wouldn't tow again. I wouldn't tow or use a hitch/ moto carrier with a Prius.

Better to get a Matrix, Rav4, etc... for towing a trailer.
