Upgrade type II headlights?

    I've checked out a lot of the headlight threads on here and learned a lot, but I'm still wondering if anyone can help me answer this question:

    I have a new 2011 type II with headlights that seem pretty dim compared to the ones on my old Acura TL. What is the easiest / best way to improve them, without installing HIDs into a reflector casing that is going to blind everyone else on the road?

    There are better halogen lamps out there. PIAA makes some bright ones. With that though, the lifespan appears to be shorten.

    Congrats--enjoy.

    I believe the high beams on my Prius V (w/ LED headlights) are the same bulb size as your low beams. I replaced mine with PIAA bulbs, which I've used on a few cars before, with great results. More info here:

    you would be installing low beams into a projector casing with a controlled cut off so no blinding with HIDs, the hi beams are reflector casing

    If you want to improve you should just invest in a HID kit. Its not really blinding to others if you bring down the headlights a bit. In most cases, its better that others see you and know you are there, its much safer that way, IMO.
    If you really do not want to go with HID's then I would go with some PIAA as well. Name brand but be carefull on the wattage. You may see yourself burning your wires.

    GL and once you figure out what you want please post some pictures and reviews, I would like to see non HID's that are brighter.
