Is it possible to upgrade the stock radio from no-JBL to the JBL 6disc changer without using the JBL Amp?
I shorted out my audio outputs on the non-JBL and have found a replacement JBL version for less than what it would cost to replace it under warranty.

I have a 4-channel amp running with the JL Audio CleanSweep.

probably best if you added a CD -Changer and speakers of your choice.

That's not his problem. He's not going for better sound quality. He blew up the radio he already has.

BTW, I think the answer is gonna be Yes.

The JBL amp includes a lot of the necessary electronics to use the JBL stereo - for example, the volume control on the radio just sends a signal to the amp, it doesn't directly change the output levels from the head unit. When the amp is unplugged all the "Sound" controls on the display are disabled.

So he has an amp running JL Audio etc etc and he just wants to know if the JBL radio with the CD Changer will work with his current setup?

Sorry, the simple answer is "No". The radio and amp are integrated in the JBL system, and it isn't possible to use either separately.
