Since I bought my 2017 Prius V four, I have gotten spoiled by the upgraded 510165 head unit. I have decided to upgrade my 57011 in my 2013 Prius V to a 510057. I have been getting the run around with some sellers, and I missed a perfect unit because I waited. That listing was

Question 1: I have seen part numbers for the 510057 of 86100-47420, 86100-47421, and 86100-47422. Are there any differences?

Question 2: I have an ebay seller 10 miles from me that insists that the expansion box is not necessary. He says that the SD card makes the expansion box unnecessary (BS). He also said the expansion box is only required for the 2012-2014 Prius V's (BS). He does not have the vehicle to get the cosmetic parts from either. Can I use the working expansion box that I got with my 57011 unit?

Question 3: If I buy a unit without an expansion unit or without the cables. can I use the cables from my 57011? I was able to buy those cables on Amazon for about $22 3 years ago. If the cables are different, what is the correct part number?

OK, I am getting serous about upgrading the 57011 in my 2013 Prius V two to a 510057 facelift model.

3.5 years ago, I upgraded the 57010 in my 2013 Prius V two to a 57011, to get GPS and HD radio. Sat radio was not important to me at the time, so I do not have a Sat antenna. Thanks to Kepik for all his help:)

This is will continue to be my daily UBER driver for about 2 more years (150k might be the limit).

I recently purchased a 2017 Prius V 4, that has a 510165 unit, which is one generation beyond the 510057. I have decided to upgrade my current unit for three reasons:
    1) The screen is sooo much easier to read.
    2) I find myself constantly swapping between the GPS and the radio (just to know the name of the song). The split screen feature would be sooo nice.
    3) I want to try SAT radio. I actually had a passenger who was recently out of jail, and wanted "90's music". That is a case for Sirus XM since they have a "90's" channel. If I wind up liking SAT radio, I can write off the monthly cost.

All that said, there are some complications for my upgrade:
    1) I don't think I can re-use my expansion box from my 57011. However, if I can reuse my expansion box, I would have more options to save money on the unit. There are some 510057 units out there that have the expansion box, and many that don't. I actually had a seller tell me that the expansion box is not required in a 510057, because it uses the SD card instead (I called BS). Looking at Kepik's original post, I can see that the cables for the 57011 and 510057 units are very different.

    2) When I bought my 57011, it did not come with the cable that joins the expansion box to the main unit. I bought one on Amazon for $30, and it has worked. That cable won't work on a 510057. I have noticed on ebay that if a 510057 unit includes cable, there are two different cables used. One cable plugs into 3 jacks on the top unit, and the other style only plugs into two jacks (leaving one jack empty). Kepik's phone shows the 3 plug version. Kepik's photo shows most of the part number for the cable: 86842-35010 (last two digits are guesses). I located a cable 86842-35010 my dealer's website, but it says it won't fit a 2015 or 2016 Prius V.

Any Help would be much appreciated, Especially with part numbers.

Here is the back of my 57011 with jumper cable:

Here is the back of my 57011 without the jumper:
-The blue connector in the upper right is not connected to anything (possible input for SAT?).
-The gray connector in the center is not connected (looks like some sort of rf).

-The one I marked Roof is an antenna connector on a separate cable. The connector supports two Coax connections, but since I don't have a SAT antenna on the roof, only one coax connector mates with the jack.
-All other connectors go into the harness, including the grey connector next to the one I labeled GPS.
NOTE: I do not have a SAT antenna on the roof, so I will need to add an under dash antenna. I don't know which plug that would go into on either the 57011 or the 510057

I am getting close to buying a 510057 unit. Still looking for a source of those pesky cables.

I am going to the dealer tomorrow to finally get the Inverter recall taken care of. While I am in the waiting room, I will bug the parts guy about the part numbers.

@gromittoo any update on this. My prius V unit 57011 touch screen stopped responding. I am looking to upgrade to facelift version radio. Let me know if you were successful in swapping.
