Updates to Navigation system?

The disk in my '05 is version 4.2; version 5.1 is current disk available; the next nav upgrade is due to be released in October and is going to be a version 6. The price I was quoted was around $225.00 just for the disk, install it yourself.

I understand the 05 and 06 nav systems are different. Do you know if the upgrade you mentioned will work in the 05? Also, will it improve the graphics of the 05 nav system, the way the 06 graphics were improved?

The resolution of the screen is a function of the hardware display itself, not the disc. So upgrading the disc will not change the look at all.

My understanding is that there are two versions of the 2006 data disc; one for the "low resolution" display of the 04/05 nav system and another for the "high res" version found on 06.
