My Prius horn not was working.so a local mechanic installed the Clock Spring which i ordered from eBay. now horn works fine. but i face unexpected break/or tire skidding randomly with out i press the break. and seat belts tightens. fortunately it retain in same lane. not skidding to left or right. some warning lights appears on dashboard but it clears out quickly. so what could be the issue. thinking to go back to mechanic. Want to find out if anyone had same issue. please advice.

Reading the trouble codes is the way to proceed.

For entertainment purposes, we can speculate on what the trouble codes might turn out to be.

I'll vote for codes having to do with the steering angle sensor. It is attached to the spiral cable ("clock spring") and so will have been manipulated by anyone who replaced the spiral cable.

If the vehicle stability control thinks the steering wheel is pointed one way while the wheel speeds indicate something else, it may conclude the car is skidding, and react accordingly.

Reading the trouble codes will show if I'm right or all wet.
