I purchased the undercoating from the dealer, but I haven't had it done yet. I didn't mean to buy it, but the pretty saleswoman seemed convincing. (I'm a sucker for a pretty face). I'm now having second thoughts. Are there any issues peculiar to the prius concerning undercoating? Any thoughts about undercoating in general?

    Thanks, Jim.

In general, dealer "packs" like undercoating, paint and fabric treatments are a waste of your money. There is a tremendous profit margin for the dealer. You can buy 3M spray undercoating, some good wax, and some Scotchguard and do it yourself and save hundreds. My 2 cents

    Don't undercoat your Prius.

Keep it clean. Flush out the wheel wells with cold water every time you wash it.

This car really doesn't need undecoat unless you live on a salt flat.

I strongly believe that the manufacturer coats everything that needs coating, and that the dealer undercoating is utterly redundant.

See if you can get your money back for the undercoating, and give the pretty saleswoman an expensive piece of jewelry instead, if you really want to empty your pockets for her.
