Dear TX Prius Prime owners, I believe we can claim $2500 state incentive when it is open this spring if the vehicle was purchased or leased from TX Toyota dealers. The problem is Toyota has not submitted an application to be on the vehicle list and not even aware of this incentive. I am still communicating with Toyota but it would be great if more owners contact Toyota and urge them to list Primes so we can claim this incentive! It is a shame for Toyota not listing Prime as an eligible vehicle or not having any state incentive as Toyota HQ is located in Plano, TX. Details of this incentive can be found here under LDPLI toward the bottom of the link. Texas Emissions Reduction Plan (TERP) - TCEQ - www.tceq.texas.gov
Considering that Toyota is now headquartered here in Texas, this is pretty durn ironical. I was able to use the incentive for my Energi during the first program which "sold out" fairly quickly because leasing also qualified. I was the first customer to utilize it and had to walk the dealership thru all the steps for verification. The check came fairly quick IIRC.
The request form just became available to manufacturers last week https://www.tceq.texas.gov/assets/public/implementation/air/terp/FY18_LDPLIP_Vehicle_Manufacturers_Form_FINAL.pdf Light-Duty Motor Vehicle Purchase or Lease Incentive Program - TCEQ - www.tceq.texas.gov
I've been trying to keep an eye on this incentive program since the legislature brought it back. It sure has taken TCEQ a long time to get things rolling since it was signed into law back in September of 2017. They don't even plan on starting to take applications till this summer. I e-mailed to ask if cars purchased before September of 2017 would qualify I was warned that they may not. So sad since I got mine in June of 2017.
