Today is the second anniversary of trading in my 2005 on this 2013 PiP and I have zero regrets. What a car!! I do confess to occasional bouts of minor longing for a Gen 4 or a Prime, but every time I drive this thing, I'm impressed. After 32,248 miles, I've spent $1,636 less on gas and electric than it would have cost a typical 28 mpg car to cover that distance. Only "repair" so far has been recharging the air conditioner and the high voltage fuse recall. Odometer is now reading a little over 85k miles.
i keep asking myself why i'm constantly looking at other cars, when mine is so perfect. must be a male thing
I still find myself looking at other cars too. Even though I just bought my wife a 2013 Edge. It’s going to be at least 3 years before I can convince her she needs a Prius. LoL
My wife's '07 is over 127,000 miles now. We're hoping it'll go at least another year and then maybe we can afford a Gen 4.
time to start shopping for that guzzler i've always wanted. probably cheaper than pip at 24 cents/kwh
You have good reason to complain. In this country, that's an insane price. But, if it's any consolation, we were paying about 50 cents a kWh when we lived on Roatán off the coast of Honduras. And the power went off, on average, several times a week. And on the neighboring island of Utila, it was even more expensive and even less reliable. The topper, in my experience, would be at our radio station in Mango, Togo. It's also about 50 cents a kWh, but it's just completely unusable for a radio station. The nominal 240 volts runs from 90-200 volts. We had to go totally solar with diesel backup.
