I'm still struggling with some Multi-Function Display issues. First, can someone tell me if there is a way to "reset" the MFD? I'd like to see if I can reset it to clear it and the quirky behavior.

What behavior? I won't double post, but I wrote about it here:
    http://priuschat.com/forums/gen-ii-prius-audio-electronics/74856-mfd-problems-after-stereo-install-advice-please.html

I remember reading somewhere that removing the #39 fuse could help, but I don't have a Haynes manual so I'm unsure about that. Any advice on that?

Second, I cycled through the dianostic menu as you can access through the MFD. All seemed to check out on the initial system check screen (as shown in an example here (not mine):

But when I ran the LAN monitor, it gave me an orange "CHEK" code on EMV...(again as in the example although it's not mine) but what is EMV???

Excellent - thanks for the answer and the link!

Now, is there a reason the EMV (MFD) would say "OK" on one screen, then give a "CHEK" indication on the other? I also have some codes that perhaps someone can interpret?

    EMV...MFD...Wth!?!?

Ok, if I press on the "CHEK" on the LAN Monitor (again, this is where it says EMV, here are the codes listed:

    01-D5 190-45-D
    01-DC 190-38-D
    01-DC 1C6-08-E

Now thanks to the link I found here that explains the codes (Prius Chat has everything!!), I can determine what they mean...sort of...I'll try to walk through it as I understand it. This is as much for me as anyone else who it might help in the future.

First code: 01-D5 means the following: "ABSENCE OF REGISTRATION UNIT" Places that are considered trouble areas with this code:

    1. Power source circuit of component - shown by sub-code...in this case the sub-code (190) is the Audio Head Unit. In my case, that makes sense)

    2. AVC-LAN circuit between MFD and component (again that component would be the audio h/u)

    3. Component shown by sub-code (again, the audio h/u for me)

Second code: 01-DC This is a "TRANSMISSION ERROR" - again using the sub-code of 190, points to the Audio h/u

Third code: 01-DC again, but this time the sub code is 1C6 which says "GATEWAY"

So...my question (if anyone cares to try to help me...I know these are rather specific codes) is what to do!? I will obviously check all my connections and see what, if anything, seems out of line. But can someone tell me what "GATEWAY" means?? Or where I might look for the "TRANSMISSION ERROR"?? Anyone have a lead for deciphering the connection codes??

If anyone has any tips on where to look, or how to go into fixing any of these codes, all help right now is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!
