Turn signal

    Anyone know the part number for the front driver side turn signal connector?

    Got the bulb, got the bulb socket, the wire to the connector broke. Dealer quoted 90 bucks. I’m pretty sure I can get it cheaper on rockauto or driftmotion if I had the type.

    Looks like this one Nippon Denso Top Slot Injector Connector
    Or the bottom slot. Can’t tell

    I do not know the part number that one looks like it will cover you by the picture if that's a real picture of the exact part that's for sale I have some I can cut off and I see them every other day it seems like when I go to tow lots and junkyards so there's always that there are ones in other places on the car that don't see the problems that the one that goes to an incandescent bulb can sometimes see heat or something similar connectors go on the inverter pump the coolant heat storage tank pump and I think heater core pump between the actuator and the stroke simulator on a generation 2 along with a few other places they won't have the same wire color but I think they'll plug up and you just use the wires as you see fit.

    2nd wire? Did you get another plug that you can use wire should be sticking out of it You just splice to them or you can get the amp connector removal tools and try to remove the pins I'm seemingly a waste on a turn signal.

    So one of the two wires in the connector broke. I was able to find the part:

    Female Connecter Housing

    Spent an hour picking at it with a depinning tool and I was able to get both pins out. Crimped some new pins and snapped them into the connector again. Unfortunately, the led bulb I wanted to put in it won’t flash normally so I have to use an old halogen bulb. It’s working now. Im out the money I paid for the led bulb now. Any idea why it wouldn’t flash normally whereas a halogen bulb does?

    Yes I can tell you exactly why what you should do in this particular case is if you change the fronts to LED turn signals and leave the incandescence in the back your flash rate will remain the same If you change all four to LED and put the red dot on the right side and get them all to work you still have the fast flash problem because I guess of the low resistance of the LEDs so you get a special flasher or if that's too complicated you buy these resistors that you splice in your lines feeding the LEDs and they will make the flash go back to normal realizing in the foreign countries I think you have fast flashing anyway some American cars nowadays I even think have it maybe not I thought escalades and stuff like that might do it but anyway no matter so to get away from this in the generation two I put the mirrored amber bulbs for my turn signals in the front in the back I have LED I think they're 7440s and I have normal flashing rate in all of my generation twos like this. In the front because of the mirrored amber bulbs you can't tell the bulbs are even in place It looks like just a mirrored housing with nothing in the hole. In the rear it doesn't matter what anything looks like because well it's behind me.

    so if I change the front two to LED they’ll flash normally? I’ll wait till one burns out then. Thanks.

    You need to have two of them incandescent one on each side I usually put the incandescent bulbs the silver mirrored amber Sylvania bulb that I've been using in my classic American cars for about 30 years except now instead of 11:57 or 56 they're 3156 or 57 different base same bulb manufacturing process they go in the front of the car because they look nice in the back of the car I put the LEDs one on each side for the turn signals flasher turn signals now they flash at the regular rate if I change the two back ones to LED they'll all flash fast. I don't care what position you have the men You may not give a crap about the bulbs I have in the front so you could leave the fronts LED and put the back ones orange bulbs incandescent and you will flash at the rate that's all I'm saying You can wait till they burn out or not No issues at all I don't use my turn signals enough for the sockets to ever even get warm You look in most Prius and the sockets that the bulbs are plugged into are all brown where they were once gray and the plastic is touch it and it breaks LED bulbs create none of this problem the heat is not enough to discuss at all.
