Yesterday I put in the vin # for a vehicle we are looking at for my daughter. A 2010 with 86000 miles on it. Carfax said it had 33 reports for it. I paid the $$ for it and now it is saying Vin # incorrect. I tried clearing cookies, changing browsers. I have the # from the owner on his registration and copy pasted it from his email. I looked on Toyota owners group and that only gave me 3 records. Help!
Another way to check service history is to go to the Toyota owners website, create an account, and add the VIN as if you own it.
Just be aware, not everything is reported to CarFax. For example, not all accidents are reported. Check CarAngel videos on YouTube for hints on safely buying a used car.
