My battery went dead and I couldn’t start the car and had to call Geico to get a jump start. is their any way to add a switch to the cargo light, or disable it in the menus? I’d still like to be able to turn it on at times but would prefer it to be off most of the time.

Mine doesn't stay on. It only comes on when I open the hatch. Sounds like a faulty switch to me.

Don't they normally turn off after 5 or 10 minutes when it's left open? Ours is LED so the draw is minuscule

Any small jump starter will start your Prius. Even those small ones, no bigger than an iPhone.

Hey there, yea I recently found a someone that sells something like that on eBay, it has a on and off switch, off being permanently off, and on being regular oem function. Been couple of days since I bought mine, it’s VERY bright and works well. Listing is “LED trunk light for 2023 prius”Cheers!

For sure it’s got no switch? Our gen 3 has one. Seems like Toyota keeps finding stuff to delete.

It's getting kind of frustrating. What's next on the delete list, customers?

I mounted a cheap battery operated light on the rear hatch lid.
    Much more useful.

It’s amazing how weak the lighting can be with all the modern options

The existing light is not very bright, and in a poor location. Mounting the light on the hatch works well.
