Does anyone else have trouble accessing everything with this version of techstream? It seems like if I'm checking stuff on a 3rd gen that it won't let me perform some active tests or read some data lists from time to time. Just tried to perform active test "egr step" on a 2010 with no luck. Yesterday I tried to do an active test on the engine water pump on a different 2010 with no luck. No pattern, rhyme, or reason on what it keeps me out of but seems to be more prevalent with gen 3. It won't read the vin on 4th gen. Most everything works most of the time though.

Maybe the cable? I remember facing a fair amount of random disconnects with one of those xHorse clones. Upgraded to the MongoosePro and it's been smooth sailing ever since.

Thanks. I've wondered about that. I have a couple of the cheap ones. Haven't noticed one being any better or worse than the other, as it's random. I think I'll go ahead and get a Mongoose Pro.

Anyone have the archive needed to install techstream on Windows 10 from this video?

I had it (techstream) on a Windows XP partition on my MacBook, but it finally bit the dust.

I'm sure you could find one on the obdii365 site.

    Trying to load Techstream
I bought Windows XP 32 bit on a CD to load on my old laptop. It currently has 64 bit Win 10. I was unable to load the XP nor format the HD using the CD. Youtube and other sites instruct me to first load virtualbox (I did) and then a 32 bit version of Windows and finally, Techstream onto the Win XP in the virtual box. The cable that I bought came with a CD which is blank. The ebay seller gave me a link to a website with chinese wrting. Another website (hint-the guy does not like mud) completely skips the installation of 32 bit operating system. Many have insisted that 32 bit OS is needed. Is this right?
