Yes, you can connect it to the underhood jump terminals.

I use the NOCO Genius 1 amp for my 4Runner, which is parked outside in my driveway. I like it very much. Purchase about 2-1/2 years ago.

I've had noco since released I like . You need to be making proper connections in the back of the car to put a plug to put your charger on so you don't have to constantly fool around under the hood or maybe you like that sort of thing just be careful that under hood point scratch is real easy and gets messed up the positive part where you're clipping the red cable I personally would prefer to have a little cable at the back of the car If I want to make it so that I don't have to lift the hatch I can drop it through a little hole right where the battery sits and the drain holes are located and then it's just hanging behind the rear fender liner you just reach up grab it stick your other end on it and walk off You can't even see it You don't have to feel it even The plug only goes one way.

 

Same connection is used for all battery tenders for powersports equipment lawn tractors and all one cable is sheath and the others exposed The exposed is the negative there's also a cover on the battery end that you can put on that stays clipped to the wire if you're worried about it getting dirty.

 

On my gen 3 (hopefully kinda similar), I wired in a quick-connect where the 12 volt comes into the under-hood fuse box. It's a heavy, black-sheathed wire, a little tricky to get to. Then you also need to find somewhere to attach the ground wire, say hitchhike on a bolted connection to the body.
