Found this as I was pricing a rear sway bar for a Prius C.

PTR1152071 - Toyota Obs. Trd yaris sway bar | Scarborough Toyota of Canada, Scarborough Ontario

Can this price be believed?? It is from a Toyota dealer in Scarborough Ontario Canada. I do happen to live in Canada so that is a plus! But the best price I've seen online is $145 USD.

Would you think maybe this is the OEM sway bar and not the Red TRD one?
I would call and ask but website says they are closed on Sunday.

I am not 100% about the 2015, but the 2012 did not come with an OEM swaybar.

Oh well, it was too good to be true. Got a reply from Scarborough Toyota this morning.
The OBS listed in the title meant obsolete. No longer available for order. :(

That's a bummer I'm pretty sure Cusco still offers one if Toyota really has discontinued it.

Maybe with enough inquiries they'll get off their acronym-addled keesters and revise "OBS" to "no longer available", and grey-out the price field or something. :cautious:

Going to go with Whiteline. Decent price selling on eBay. The red TRD would have been nice but I don't get down low and look under my car everyday so I doubt I'll see it often anyway. haha

lol but it matches all my braces. In all seriousness I see the Cusco on Amazon Japan for around $200 exchange. I'm not sure if they will ship it to Canada or not. The Yaris TRD bar is still listed on Lithia Toyota Parts for $175. That doesn't mean that it will actually be available when you check out if it really is discontinued, but I have a feeling that the original dealer only said that because they had it listed for too cheap.

I've got a trip to the USA soon and I'll be shipping some other items to the mailbox and picking it up on the way home.
I found the Whiteline eBay for $165USD ($215 CAD), and free shipping, which is much more in my budget. I like the 22mm for the Whiteline too and since I haven't added any suspension upgrades on the car yet the color won't matter much.

    Here's who I went with:

Toyota Trd, Rear Sway Bar PTR11-52071 | BAM

$140.40 with $42.04 shipping to my zip. I got it for $150 after shipping. It's gone up a bit.

Secondarily, Brandon, I've heard that the Yaris 4 wheel disc brake kit works on the PC. You seen that to be true?

I've not personally seen or done it, but I know the rear wheel bearings are the same between the two, so I'm sure it's a bolt on. Questionable areas would be e brake cable, and the brake bias once it's all bolted up.

I ordered the Whiteline instead. Will cost $165 USD. Can't wait!!!

I dare you to try drifting in the C! Someone very trustworthy, but totally not me, told me that pulling up the e brake at 45mph will not rotate the back end. It will beep at you and and illuminate the "emergency brake" or something similar text on the display.

I'm curious to hear your thoughts on it. I know others have had it, but most of them seem long gone now.

I've "drifted" the rear end in large empty parking lots... but anything faster it most definitely doesn't work.
I know, I know.. it's a PC... but Chick-Fil-A was about to close and my pregnant wife wanted some nuggets.

Has anyone tried the e-brake thing?? There is a guy on youtube who stuck his car in reverse while driving and filmed it (spoiler: nothing happened)

I don't drive like a maniac but there are some curvy roads that are my main routes. I'll try it out and post back here. I drove a 323i long ago so that is measuring stick!

Yes, it shuts down the power and slows the whole car very safely. Not like the good ol days where I could rotate an under-steering FWD car in the snow with the "spin out lever". The traction control in this car as a whole is actually fairly good. We come through some tight on ramps at high enough speeds to be able to merge with 70+mph traffic. Occasionally I'll get the Toyo's to slip enough to get the traction control to kick in. It really isn't super intrusive though. Or maybe it is but the hybrid drive system just already feels so different to me than my 80's throttle cable cars that I can't really tell. Either way with my current suspension set up the car really is at a point where I feel like I could drive it almost anywhere at WOT with out issue. Even keeping it as a hybrid I would love to feel this car with an extra 50hp. Or maybe add electric motors to the rear wheels, and a turbo 4cyl and manual trans up front. :D Sorry I'm still new to this whole fuel economy thing! :p

I've done it. You have to whip the car before the e-brake does anything other than just slow you down. This is the first fwd car that I've had that isn't tail happy. I've had success doing it at low speeds, but higher speeds it just felt reckless and unnecessary. Maybe I just didn't try hard enough. :D
Like Brandon said, I do have some suspension mods, so the car felt like it would turn just fine without it, honestly.
