Awesome, the v does have a lot of room for sleeping.
Seems larger than a twin size mattress.

 

I'm looking to do some v camping this summer. What do you have on your windows?

 

For a single traveler here are a few things that worked for me for stealth camping: Of course a lot of these may be cheaper somewhere other than amazon.

1. Custom fit windshield cover. These Heatshield products are extremely durable and will last forever: “Heatshield Windshield Custom-fit Sunshade #1215” available on amazon

2. Custom fit front side window covers: “SIDE WINDOW Front Seat Set/2 Sunshades Heatshield Sunshade #1215S-C” available on amazon

3. Back window sunshade with suction cups: can be cut to size with scissors to fit Prius v wagon: “REAR WINDOW Sunshade for TOYOTA PRIUS Heatshield Brand Sunshade #1013R-A” available on amazon

4. For portholes, rear passenger, and trunk side windows get a couple of pieces of black posterboard from your local dollar store and cut to size. If you cut them so that they just “barely” fit they will stay in by themselves and block out all the light. With the existing window tinting it’s hard for passersby to tell that the windows are covered. Use a little black electric tape if you need to put a few pieces together or make a little extra bulk around the edges so they stay put without having to adhere them to the vehicle.

5. Remove two thirds of the rear seat (or have Toyota do it – very inexpensive) and leave it at home if you don’t need it. If you don’t need the second row at all removing the whole thing will give you a huge amount of extra space (and sleeping space for two). 6. Window Rain Deflectors: Search at Amazon for “TuningPros WV-742 Window Visor Deflector Rain Guard Dark Smoke 4-pc Set” (or find a cheaper set) so you can vent the windows during rainy weather;

Flat Sleeping Platform: If you choose to remove two thirds of the rear seat for a place to sleep, buy two ‘Rubbermaid TightMesh 6-ft L x 16-in D White Wire Shelf’ units and a little package of zip ties to form a flat area for sleeping that is 6 ft by 26 inches. They have a lip on the edge; but having a lip on each side in the upward direction works fine; the trunk is not entirely flat, but can easily be leveled out when you pack. Can see this at Lowes online, though they are always in stock

7. Air mattress: this example is high quality, self-inflating and can be rolled up into a small size; Amazon: “Lightspeed Outdoors Self Inflating Sleep Pad”

8. Foam Mattress topper 75"L x 31"W x 2.75"H really helps some of us with arthritis to put on top of the air mattress: Maybe something similar to this from Walmart online: Siesta Twin Memory Foam Guest Bed”

9. Or buy your own foam mattress to your size requirement at Foam Factory: Example- A size of 2" x 31" x 72" is about $50 in 2016. Google FoamByMail, then ‘Residential’, then ‘Seats and Cushions’, then ‘Seats and Cushions Custom Cut’, then click on “Cushion” and put in the dimensions you would like.

10. Most Prius Campers get no-see-um mesh for the windows. You can get made to fit magnetically attached covers for the Prius windows by googling ‘theskeeterbeater’ or you can get no see um mesh and magnets on Amazon and make your own.

Which portable fridge are you using? I am buying a edgestar fp430 or the fp630 portable fridge with the 12 volt compressor. wanted to know how the battery is holding up

 

Lots of great ideas in this thread. Looking at using my V to camp, or selling my Prius C and buy a van. MPG of all vans suck compared to that of Prius though.
