Only had my 2008 Mazda3 Hatch for about 1.5 years, but I've been pretty unhappy with the poor fuel economy. I have no major complaints about the car otherwise. The interior quality is so-so, but that's to be expected from a economy car. I finally test drove the Prius yesterday. I was pleasantly surprised with how smooth it drove. And I really liked the look and feel of the interior. It feels like a pretty solid car. I was able to trade my Mazda and keep my monthly payments the same (leasing the Prius for 48 months). And that's after rolling over the balance owed on the Mazda. All things considered, I should be saving a good bit of money on the fuel costs. I pick up the Prius tomorrow night. I'm looking forward to finally driving a vehicle with a gas gauge that doesn't drop with the blink of an eye.
Nothing earth shattering, I know. I just thought I'd share.

:welcome: Congratulations on your new Prius. Enjoy!

I'm sure you have been through it before but remember to be careful because the dealer is going to try to sell you all kinds of extra stuff you don't need, such as extended warranty, prepaid maintenance plan etc. Best advice is just say no to all of it.

That's a great move. You got a bigger car too.

    Thanks for your post!!

Reading Car and Driver and sometimes Consumer Reports, it's easy to think the Mazda3 5 door is all that and a bag of chips ... C &D just raves about how fun it is to drive.

I have actually got my foot stuck while in the rear seat of a Mazda 3 hatch... I had the driver's seat slid full back, got in back seat, mistake...there's about 6" between front of seat and seatback. Had to maneuver to get out. I was stuck for a bit, the legroom can be that bad in the 3.

I test drove the 2008 3 hatch when trying to fix the seat in my 2009. I would have traded straight across for Mazda that day (Feb 2009) since the 3 was zippy and fun to drive with good seating for this 6'2" dude.

Things have changed now though - The '10 Mazda 3 gives ya squeezy seats and a smiley front grill while the '10 Prius has improved quite a bit.

    Do you mean Prius 3?
    I am not aware of a Prius 2 2010
Or did you mean a third generation 2?
In Israel basically one model is sold although you can add on a few things like CC which is what I did

In the US, the lowest model available to non-fleets is the 2010 Prius II. See Toyota Vehicles : Toyota Announces Prices for 2010 Prius / Toyota.

FWIW, the 2010 Prius I's equipment level was announced at http://priuschat.com/forums/gen-iii-2010-prius-main-forum/69521-prius-i-other-news.html.

Oh yes, and congrats to the OP!
