For those that have your PIP, was your Toyoya PIP My Order page kept updated? Is it updated now? Mine shows - Order Status/History Online order submitted11/17/2011Online dealer agreementOnline order confirmedManufacturing month confirmedYour Plug-in was built2/3/2012In transit to portArrived at US port So you can see that the "In transit to port" and the "Arrived at US port" have no dates yet.
The order page, the emails from Toyota, and the information from the dealer were not kept in sync very much. Despite having picked up the car a few days ago, the page never showed any date for "Arrived at US port".
Ken, Don't have car yet - also live in Rochester area. My page has the following: order status/history Online order submitted 11/17/2011 Online dealer agreement Online order confirmed Manufacturing month confirmed (checked now but was 1/27) Your Plug-in was built (checked now but was 2/22) In transit to port 2/27/2012 Arrived at US port _____ I think it is on New Century 1 but have not confirmed with Vanderstyne. No e-mail notification of "in transit to port yet" but the order page finally changed on 3/2 to reflect the 2/27 status. Hope that is useful.
Where do you live? I got my 2007 from Vanderstyne, but is too far for me now. I using Dorschel. Keep intouch.
Emails and order page are not very timely. I've had my car 4 days and still it doesn't show arrived at port. The built car date and "in transit to port" dates were probably the most accurate within a few days. After that things go quiet. I got my email saying it was on the ship 2 days before it arrived (but at least a week late), but i knew already what ship it was on. I got my last email saying it arrived 2 days after it actually did. so, wait a few days after your in-transit to port date and then bug your dealer to tell you what ship it's on. Then you can track it from there. Once it arrives at your US port it seems to take 1-2 weeks to get delivered. Mine was 8 days but in Southern California they got their first cars in 4 days. The dealers don't seem to know what day the cars will show up and are at the mercy of the logistics operations delivering the cars. Someone should introduce them to UPS or Fedex and get some tracking numbers...
Basically the same thing for me. The email notifications and the info on "My Order" have been delayed if showing at all. Mine still shows that it was "in transit to port" 2/12, but no arrival info shown. The ship arrived here on Tuesday, 2/28 and the car was at the dealer by Thursday night, if I remember correctly. I'm waiting on leather, so I haven't picked it up yet.
There is a very good tracking system using the VIN. Necessary for customs import checking, Bill of Lading, and Panama Canal fees. Costs $100's or $1000's a month to get access. Beyond my budget and need.
To tell the truth, I'm very dissapointed at Toyota's order page with their customers update, I was expecting a full fallow-up thru with the latest information. I'm starnded with a build date so far (Feb 21)..... and probably that's the only thing there is.
That's my build date with no further update since then...I guess we have no choice but to wait. We know they will get here eventually. Something about it being so close now makes the waiting almost unbearable.
Back in November when I ordered, it wasnt a big deal, but now that peeps in CA. are getting the car, I have been going crazy. So close, yet so far. My page says it was built on 2/28, so I do not know if it made the boat, or I have to KEEP WAITING longer than mid March, or even APRIL !!!!! UGHHHH
Looks like Toyota has a 4-day lag built into their system. It was 4 days after my car was built that it showed up on the "My Order" page. Now, it is four days after it was shipped that it just showed up as "in transit to port" on the "My Order" page.
I received the email last Wednesday (2/29) that said "Your Plug-in Will be Built in March", and today my order page updated. It now says Manufacturing month confirmed 2/28/2012 I have contacted the dealer twice to see if they have an estimated build date, but I guess they have better things to do than call me back.
for the east coast folks, most of us in CA haven't got our cars yet. I think it's literally the first hour or so of preorders that got theirs.
It's definitely still first-day, but my dealer did not confirm until later in the day, allowing me to confirm at 3:19pm. I guess it was just the luck of how they scheduled the production that I was the first at my dealership.
Mine is also on the New Century 1. It left port on 2/28 so its roughly 2300 miles east from Japan or maybe 1000 miles west of Hawaii, which is (very) roughly half way to Panama.
drash, I bet you're right about NEW CENTURY 1 It's scheduled in BALBOA, PA 2012-03-19 02:00 UTC If it keeps the same schedule as PYXIS LEADER, it will be in Newark on March 26th.
