Anyone signed up for the Toyota "Owners" website? Looks like a way to get my email address before a ton of marketers. You can opt out, but you have to visit each of the 25 or so websites individually to do so. Anyone sign up? Worth it?
I did and I don't get any junk emails from them. You do want to get on your dealer's list as they send specials, coupons, and offer to pay you to come visit. I don't even remember the last time I went into the site. Since a dealer hasn't done the maintenance my records are out of date because I haven't bothered to post updates.
I did. I have not got any spam, just specials from my dealer. You also can add any service you have had done elsewhere.
No unsolicited junk mail for me from either Toyota or my dealer's site either. Whether or not either site has any value for you only you can say. I don't check in very often, usually just after I get service or something.
i signed up. felt like i was getting a lot of surveys and a chance to win $100 bucks. I answered their surveys. Haven't received one in a long time now. never won the 100 $ either.
I signed up, and I don't notice any significant increase of automobile or Prius related marketing being filtered to me. I have selected my "Chosen Dealership" and I do receive notices about upcoming service from them. But I think I would receive that information from them in any case. Is it worth it? I like the ability to enter my service history, get the phone number of my dealership. Keep track of any recalls. But for tangible Prius Information...I get much more from Prius Chat. There is page where you can look up "sections" of the Prius Owners Manual...but I find the segmented parts very hard to use. You almost have to get lucky to find the part you may be looking for... I signed up primarily for that..and was very disappointed to find that for some reason Toyota has decided NOT to offer the manual online on the owners site in a linear fashion. I'd say don't be afraid to sign up...there is some advantage. If you don't sign up? Neither do I think it is the end of the world.
I signed up right after getting the car. It is a good way to see any dealer service reports and you can add any service outside of the dealership. It is also a good place to see any safety recalls, etc. No spam.
