Toyota Prius 2012 giving trouble

    I changed the steering rack along with tie rod inner and outer, break pads, after alignment when I turning my car left and than right the break is catching my left tire. anybody tell me what's the problem

    I would bring it back to whoever did the brake replacement and have them check since its giving you issue. Tell them the symptoms and have them diagnose it. Don't waste your time since you paid them to work on the brakes.

    The mechanic checked but all in vain because there is no light blinking on dashboard, he reset the ABS/VSC etc but the problem is there, should I get zero point calibration, what you suggest

    i don't understand how the brake can be catching the tire, don't they work in unison, not independently?
    in other words, they both turn at the same time, in the same amount. the caliper is not close enough to the tyre to touch it in it's moment of travel, is it?
    if it's not correctly assembled, you are going to need a physical inspection, you won't get a light.

    Dear thanks for your response, Actually I took the car for changing of Tie rod and ball joint, but the mechanic he removed the steering rack and after that I changed steering rack, tie rod and ball joint, front break pad, than I did alignment after alignment I got this problem, what do you think the zero point calibration is necessary.

    Thanks bisco for your response, Actually when I am turning the vehicle slowly without applying break there is no problem if I am driving the car on the ramp and turning left and right and applying the break than its happened, I never did zero point calibration yet. do you know how to make zero point calibration

    Mechanic remove the steering box just to get money but I think my steering box was perfect, its only 133000

    you need to put it on a lift and see what is rubbing when you turn the wheel.
    i don't know how to do zero point calibration, but the service manual is available on line for a two day subscription fee.

    Dear bisco I have checked nothing is rubbing only break is catching the tire and tire stuck for a while when taking back the foot from break its going smoothly, when I am driving straight or drive slowly without using break than there is no problem tire is not catching by breaks and no any noise is coming.

    why did you change the tie rods at 133,000 km, was it in an accident?

    I've never done a zero point calibration before, but I found this website showing you how. Good luck!

    if not, take it back to the mechanic and tell him to do the Zero Point Calibration. It sounds like your mechanic doesn't know how to work on a hybrid...

    If that doesn't work, bring it to the dealership and have them do it for you.
