    USA Prius sales down 12% from 2014 but if you take Plug_in PiP out of the equation, I thinks it's more like 6% down from 2014 on the hybrid models LB+c+v.

    Gotta refresh my memory how much we dropped 2013 to 2014.

    Yeah, for Nov. Toyota sold approx. 1,000 more Tacoma's than Prius Liftbacks. Surprised me.

    How does that surprise you? Gas prices are cheap, so people don't care about efficiency. When gas prices go back up, it will swing back around. The American market thinks very short term.

    ...true some say the estimate of 10% eco is low, but if that's all we get, that's all we sell

    On the plus side, anyone who wants a Prius could wait a few months and get a discount, unless gas prices suddenly shoot up this summer.

    Next year when most of the oil companies in the US go bankrupt from lack of funding to operate, then gas prices will go back up. Don't sell your Prius cars until 2017

    I would even buy a Prius if gas was only 10 Cent !

    LOL. Funny you say that as that's what my primary "gas" costs me for my plug-in.

    I've been saying for the past couple of years that "now" is the time to by a hybrid.

    Not Me...and I own two of them right now. Prius was an experiment to save gas money that worked with my application/s...nothing else.

    UPDATE 1-Toyota lowers global sales targets for new model Prius amid an underwhelming redesign that has failed to keep pace with the rest of the car industry and oppressive corporate styling and technology that was obsolete before it even shipped amid low petrol prices.

    Pretty weak correlation historically. Maybe management is realizing they blew it and this is their preemptive excuse.

    Yeah, Prius sells crappier when gas prices low cause it's kinda expensive and is pretty mundane to drive.

    Many will pay through the nose to drive a kickass car like Tesla Model S even with low gas prices.

    <SSSSSSHHHHUUUUSSSSHHHHH!!!!!>

    Toyota obviously needs to add TSS(P) and the 1.5 kW AC inverter to the Two Eco in 2017. Yeap, that will sell at least one right away. . . . Ok, TSS(P) will be enough . . . silver or black or blue (not green.) Oh, send it to the Fayetteville, TN dealer with instructions for no port options.

    actually, you missed the most pertinent data. when the gen III came out, it languished for almost a year, due to gasoline prices and the recession.
    i don't recall anyone blaming it on the redesign. okay, maybe the bridge haters.
