Toyota, Daihatsu, and Suzuki Joint Development on 1L Sports Car

    bestcarweb.jp has a scoop about a small sports car being jointly developed by Toyota, Daihatsu, and Suzuki called Midship Sports. A 1L 3-cylinder turbo and a 5 hp motor.

    Other sites are seeing this as a possible MR2 remake.

    Supposedly it'll be between $16,000 and $20,000, although I highly doubt it'll look like the above picture. No gas cap.

    MR2? Or another small car we won't get? Considering the price of the GR86, kinda hard to see how they can target a lower price point.

    It's a little bigger than the last MR2. A smidge smaller than the GR86. That car seems to start at 2.8 million yen in Japan. The Subaru boxer engine using Toyota's DS-4 injection costing more than the engine pulled from the Swift is likely a safe bet. No rear seat will also save some cash.

    In the Swift, the engine makes 111ps, and motor is 3ps. Could this be the mildest of the hybrids:D? There is also a 48 volt full hybrid available for the Swift in Japan.
