HELP! 04 with 12K suddenly is dead. Last night I went out to close windows and it acted normally. Today it appears dead. It is remotely possible that I didn't turn it off all the way but headlights were off. I have a call into the dealer. Any ideas?

Yes have a "smart" key and it was in the car -- tried both. Jump started the car and it seems to run fine around the block. -- Anything else I should do? -- Are there two batteries = one for starter and one to drive car?

    Thanks

    Hmm.

I just came back from trying a couple things.
    1) Put the car into accessory mode. Rolled the windows up and down. Did not power down and opened the door. Priapus literally yelled at me as soon as I opened the door.

    2) Punched him into ON (not READY). Again, opened the door. This time, no angry beeping, but I could not lock the doors via the armrest. Stepping out of the car with the key produced immediate beeping.

In both cases, the radio was on the whole time and the display was on. Unless you are deaf and blind or have both radio and display turned off, you certainly would have noticed.

So, unless someone can prove otherwise, I'm having a hard time thinking that you left your car on all night.

Thanks for that -- I was having a hard time believing that too. Now that leaves me with the question why did the battery go dead. So far the car has been nearly perfect after jumping it. It has started normally. However the big battery has seemed to run lower than usual. During the drive after jumping the battery went down to one bar for the first time ever but then got up to normal and eventually got all green coming down a hill. But all in all it seemed a bar or two down from usual. It also had the lowest mileage ever recorded on the screen. I made sure the car was shut down perfectly tonight and we will see if it has power in the morning.
    Thanks for any ideas... :?
