I have a 2007 Touring Opt 4 and I'm getting ready to buy my 6th set of tires at 158k, the tires I have now are the Michelin Energy tires, not getting more than 35k per set of tires!! Tried over inflating 40/42 works for the back but the front lots of wear. Alignment is fine and most of my driving is on backroads with a little interstate.
I'm thinking about just getting the cheaper tires since I'm not getting anywhere close to tire warranty and when I bring the tires in they keep saying no warranty due to tires being under inflated. I am always checking it - I'm wondering if the tire pressure sensor is bad - thinking about getting it replace and adjusted to 40/42
Maybe shocks in front? Don't notice any pull or anything indicating it.... any suggestions would be appreciated - sad I save $$ on gas but the car chews up tires and Virginia is starting to charge a fee to electric hybrid cars $84 a year or $64...

Yes keep them inflated to 42/20 and they will wear more evenly. Just wondering, why are they always under inflated? How often do you check/inflate them?

Cheap tires are likely to cost you more in total, as your gas mileage could fall by up to about 8 MPG. Some people save $100 on the tires and then pay $500 more in gas over the life of those tires. So be careful not to fall for that trap.

Been using quality tires to no avail, getting tired of replacing tires every 18-20 months it's getting expensive. I've never owned a car that chews up tires like this one

One of the main reasons that I always buy Michelin tires are because they are the only tires that I have always been able to get the warranted mileage or better. I now have the Michelin Primacy MXV4 on mine and should easily be able to get the warranted mileage on these as well.

I keep my tires inflated to 40/38 and rotate every 5 to 10k miles.

At what pressure do you typically maintain your tires? If you are getting wear on the outer two treads that is definitely a sign of underinflation.

i think 35 to 40k is average for lrr tyres. you can go to longer life tyres at a major hit to mpg's. you do more miles per year than the avaerage. tyres are one of the casualties.
