My 2002 Prius just failed state inspection due to excessive tire wear. The wear pattern suggestions long-term underinflation. On the Yahoo! Prius Group I read an ongoing discussion about how the manufacturer's suggested psi is too low.
Has anyone else had this problem? Has Toyota replaced the tires under warranty? Does anyone know if there is a technical service bulletin on this problem?

    1. Keep the wheels aligned.
    2. Keep the tires inflated at 42 front, 40 rear to extend life.

    3. Go with the Dunlop SP-10's at the dealer. Road noise is slightly increased, but the treadwear is higher than the Potenzas and they still meet the XL load rating. Dealer pricing (at least in my area) was competitive with most tire shops in the area.
