I am newbie just purchase a 2002 last month. I had the tire pressure at 33psi when I first bought it, I know have it at 42psi and went from 43mpg to 48mpg my question to everyone is how is the car going to ride during the winter (I live in New England) with the tire pressure that high?
    Any input is appreciated....

    Thanks

If you have to deal with a considerable amount of snow in the winter then I suggest you install winter tires.

TireRack suggests that it may be appropriate to set winter tire inflation at 3-5 psi above manufacturer-recommended levels here:
Winter Tech - Higher Tire Pressures for Winter Driving

In any case do not exceed the cold tire inflation limits printed on the tire sidewall.
