TILE - for not losing your wallet, phone or Prime FOB

I have trouble understanding how people lose these things. Mine are always either in my pockets, in my hands or in a box on my headboard. They're never (ever) anywhere else.

 

Tile requires you be in Bluetooth range. I find the beep to be too high pitch to hear.

 

I looked briefly at this for a spouse continually misplacing things. The limited Bluetooth range was tolerable, but the non-user-replaceable battery was not. Needing to buy annual replacements, even with the discounted 'reTile' program, was a death knell.

 

A significant portion of the population has a fashion habit of wearing clothing lacking pockets.

 

I just ordered a four-pack of 2 Tile Sports and 2 Tile Styles on Amazon Prime day (four for the price of two). They are twice as loud as the original tiles and apparently the battery lasts longer as well. Super easy to pair with the phone. The only thing I don't like is the need to have my phone's Bluetooth on so it is able to register the last location of the tile. Having Bluetooth on shortens my phone's battery charge by about 30%.

But I really like how I can push the tile button to ring my phone - even if the phone is set to silent. I've never lost my phone but I misplace it in the house and spend enough time searching it down that this function will come in handy. I put one tile on each of our Prime key fobs and just figuring out what to do with the other two. Any ideas?

 

I attached a small luggage tag with my phone number, cheap as dirt.

 

my wife continually loses things, and quickly panics, before even searching. i have never lost anything. (except my marbles, has anyone seen them?)

 

They might be in the same place my mind ends up from time to time.

I’m not a big fan of the bluetooth distance thing. I tend to loose a lot of stuff but find it fairly quickly. Phones, car keys, and money are the exception. Never seem to have lost those.

If I ever lose my keychain I would be out some $$$. I have 3 fobs on it plus numerous keys. 2 of the fobs are keyless start. The third is also a remote starter for the truck with a key start.
