    Hi people,
Starting today when I exit the car it beeps three times and locks will not engage.
I've tried opening and shutting doors firmly and no luck.
    Does anyone have any ideas?
    Thank you,

Any chance you have another set of car keys in the car preventing it from locking?

Is the car still ON? Are you forgetting to turn it off?

You do need to make sure the car is off (taking the keys out of the vehicle while running will result in the 3 beeps)... If there is another key fob in the car, you can still lock it, but will need to use your fob to lock and unlock it.

This always happens when me and my Wife whenever we go to a park for a walk. She wants to lock her purse in the car (with her keys in it, of course). The car doesn't seem to notice or care that I have keys in my pocket, outside of the car. My wife's key chain has so many fobs on it, that it is the size of a softball (and won't fit into a pocket either).
