I'm sick of the fifty shades of the white/gray/black continuum, but pastels are worse!

I think the 2023 prius would look great in a deeper royal blue color. The videos I have seen of the reservoir blue are a much lighter blue than I expected.

Edit: Saw both of these on youtube for the 2023 prius. These don't even look like the same color? The darker one looks way better, closer to Kia's Neptune Blue Pearl Metallic color which I think looks fantastic. Which one is the real reservoir blue? Screenshot 2023-02-15 213452.png

The second one has the sunset up against it which is causing reflections from the pavement to make the colour look lighter. The top one would be more accurate under most lighting conditions.

The lighting is significantly different between these two photos, so the color will look different. You'd have to know both the lighting and what was done in photo editing to both to know which is more accurate. Like you, I prefer the first color. But other than the premium $ red, I think I still prefer the other lighter image over the 50 shades of grey Toyota is inflicting on the U.S.

I think a deep, rich metallic cherry red, bronze, and teal blue would all sell well, and a beige interior.

I would love to see more colors available. There was a time in the 90's iirc where the pastels were in fashion but now it seems we're back to the basic 4 (red, blue, white, black) or a dull mix of oops paint.

If it's the one I'm thinking of, it is a light shade. Sometimes looked blue in the sunlight. I believe the website used it for the tideland metallic/pearl on the gen2.

Had forgotten about that one. It's listed as electric green mica. I was thinking of aqua ice opalescent. It was one of those chameleon colors that were once popular. It comes up in 2001 Prius searches for blue and green.

I think these colors are all made up. The only color that is available in Japan but not available in the US is the mustard, but then Japan does not get the silver.

Actually the PHEV given to the press in EU at the December presentations, and also the Prius PHEV pics on all Toyota websites in EU are in that yellow mustard. Totally sure we will get it. I'm looking to see it in person, looks good.

In the german website, 7 colors are available. https://www.toyota.de/neuwagen/prius-plugin

Seems ironic that Canada will get the mustard colour but the US does not.

Interestingly, I just noticed that Toyota.ca now shows the Prius Prime as “coming soon”… with a blue Prius, which was not mentioned as an available colour in the press release. Is that an error, or did they change their mind re colour palette? I like blue. :)

Anyway, hopefully we find more concrete details tomorrow…
