    Let's hear it people!

I wish that I had not tinted my windows 20% but instead should have done 35%. It's a slightly difficult to see at night time.

Why would it be less of a problem seeing at 35% than 20%?

I shouldn't have tried rushing a last minute carwash and opening my door right into the pole of my kid's portable basketball rig.

How do you get a chip in the back of your spoiler? Park under a low concrete beam in a parking structure and open the hatch. Does it HAVE to open so high?

35% is lighter tint. My previous car had 35% tint and it was fine at night time. I find some difficulty with 20%.

I wish I hadn't stopped at a dumb yard sale for my friend and left my $300 trunk cover on the guy's front lawn. I also wish I hadn't trusted my friend in my Prius to begin with.... she never offered to help pay for the missing cover even though it was her fault! Doesn't she know the obesession with this car? So I also wish I hadn't assumed people knew how much this car means to me! From now on, only immediate family is allowed in the car and only after their feet and hands have been inspected for dirt. :) And no stopping at yard sales!

I wish I hadn't allowed my wife to 'borrow' MY new Peius while I was gone for 2 weeks.

Now my Prius is her Prius and now her Outback is my Outback.

I wish I hadn't loaded and unloaded those heavy, boxed (unassembled) metal storage units without first installing the rear bumper protection. Now my bumper has some scratches and missing paint on the top of it.

The day after I bought my Prius, I backed the Prius into my Subaru.

You see, I was accustomed to 2 cars in my driveway and not 3. I looked, but not close enough.

$300 damage to the Prius, and $500 to the Subaru.

The good news is that the guy who fixed my Prius said that as he worked on my car, he got more people asking questions about the Prius than any car he's had in there. And this is a custom paint shop where they do intricate work. At the time, they were doing the finishing touches on a casket to match a hot rod hearse they had just finished. And the Prius got more attention.

The damage on both cars was just cosmetic and both now look perfect.

I wish I had been brave enough to install the side trim molding myself instead of paying the "invisible bra" guys to do it. Despite my directions AND having written them on the tube, there is a big gap in the middle. They didn't get the front or back pieces close enough to the door seam.

    *I* would have done that.

Prius04: Most insurers wave the collision deductible when you hit another car belonging to you. Did yours?

I put my door moldings on too quickly, skipping two important steps:

    1 masking tape
2 measuring from the ground instead of the door bottoms, on a not perfectly level driveway.

So they are functional but crooked. I'll live with them for now as they look hard to remove and I have tons of other projects to finish on the car.

    I wish i didn't do two things.

1: i wish i didn't try putting that reclining chair into the back of my car... normally, not a problem.. but the guy helping me had it too low.. poor bumper. it's scratched down to the plastic.. and the plastic seems a little stretched as if it's dented.

2: i wish i didn't have such pride in my prius.. on this particular day. See... I was at work. The car was dirty so i took it to my normal pressure wash station. A tech guy was working on the underground pipes. as i drove close to one of these overs, the front wheel hit it. It turned, the corner went down with my tire into the whole. it swung on it's axis and smacked into my drivers door. aluminum door against steel. steel won. deep scratches along with a dent. :(

I followed those steps, but they ended up a little crooked anyway. At first I thought I'd just live with them, but my anal side couldn't handle it.

They weren't that hard to take off. I pried the end with a soft plastic putty knife and then pulled them off. The leftover tape came off with my fingernail (yes, it was a bit of work). The leftover icky came off with rubbing alcohol.

Now it looks like it never had them.

I wish I hadn't waited so long to:

    1) Install a hood deflector (got a few chips in the leading edge of the hood)

    2) Install side molding (got a couple tiny scratches)

    3) Replace the speakers (I'd forgotten what a decent car stereo sounded like)

I never told the insurance company. I've got a $500 deductible so I thought I'd lose anyway.

Do they not count the deductible at all? Of do they only count the deductible once? If once, then I lost about $300 by not telling them. (I say about, because my memory of what it cost exactly is a bit rusty now.)

Hmm I havent done anythng to my Prius so I dont really have any regrets. Actually the only things Ive done to it is tinted the windows and Zaino'd it.

    <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(silentak1\";p=\"105590)</div>
I did the two front windows in 30% and the rest of them at 5%. I wanted to (and still do) tint them all 5%. I remember I had my windows that dark on my first car and I loved how much of a difference it made.

    Priusenvy,
    Please let me know:
    1. Which speakers you replaced (I have the 9 speaker premium sound system). I'd like to replace the front tweeter/woofer, then the rears, if successful.
    2. What speaker(s) did you replace them with? I'd like to maintain the stock look. Model number of the 6.5" woofer/midrange and tweeter, please.
    3. If you replaced the speakers yourself, how was the wiring done? It is my understanding that (at least) the front woofer/tweeter combo has an unusual wiring.
    4. Not too crazy about bass, but I do like midrange and highs. Did you improve these with your new speakers? Also, how is the volume affected?
    Thank you.

    mike
