Threads get closed and moved, for various reasons, and I respect that. Usually, the reasons are obvious, and there's a clear indication that the thread's been closed or moved. This morning, I looked for a thread in the Environmental Discussion forum, and it wasn't there. I could have sworn it was there yesterday. There's not even a record of any of my posts in that thread in my 'recent activity' - it's like all traces of the thread's alleged former existence have been wiped clean.

Some of the usual suspects were involved, and the word politics was mentioned more than once, so I can only assume it's been moved to the VIP lounge, aka the political free-for-all forum. If my choice is to descend back into that particular hell, or sit here in wonder, well....here I am, wondering.

Still, it would be nice to have some indication that a thread's been moved, and I'd prefer to retain a record of what I've written.

I'm not sure which thread you're talking about but the only thread that I can see with a post from you in the last 24 hrs is this one

    Roy Spencer fail-fail | PriusChat

And I don't see any in the deleted forum.

Interesting. This means it's my mind that's lost. That's not good.

It wasn't the Spencer one, but damned if I can recall the name.

Do you have access to a record of moved threads? Maybe the last 48 hours instead of 24?

If/when something gets moved to the political forum and you are not a member there you would not see it and your post count would probably go down by whatever number of posts you had in it since posts don't count in pancakes and politics. I'm guessing its the thread that got quite political at the end when it was moved, I forget the subject of the post but do remember it.

Just to be clear, your posts still exist in the thread, you just cannot see them if not a member of FHoPolitics and your post count will not reflect them.

If it makes you feel any better, with many of my posts I try to immediately forget them.
Kind of like taking shots in a basketball game. If I miss 3 in a row? I just want to forget that and believe the next one is going in.....

    Thank you, Tideland and Paradox.

I'm glad to know it's not just my imagination. :) I tried to argue that the issue was beyond politics -silly me. ;)

The post count doesn't really concern me - I'm here for the conversation, not the points. I understand my comments have been moved, along with the rest of the thread, and I suppose if I can no longer participate anyway, it doesn't really matter if they're no longer part of my own record. It just seemed kinda spooky when all traces of the thread's existence were eradicated.

Please don't take my comments as criticism of the moderation - you're doing a good job with a difficult task.

No worries. I didn't think to look into the FHOPol forum.
